Breeding Goal

The breeding goal at Blume Farm is to produce warmblood horses for the competitive Adult Amateur dressage rider

Ingo Pape once said on a visit to his farm, “you don’t breed a dam, you breed a dam line”. I took that advice to heart when importing my foundation mare EM/ SPA Dorfblume (Davignon-SPS Marschfee). I knew my mare was special, but on another educational trip to Germany was reminded how lucky I was to have Dorfblume. Axel Wendeler, renowned Hanoverian breeder including stallions Benetton Dream, Royal Classic and Winterprinz, mentioned that one of his favorite mares of all time was a mare named Marschfee! When I told him I owned her daughter he affirmed how fortunate I was to start my breeding program with such a mare.
